Big Data

The Program of this one-week seminar will combine:
  • Training from prominent academics, professionals from industry and IT business.
  • An international project work experience: 5 teams made up of 4 students (one student from each country) will be formed in order to answer burning questions raised by Big Data.
Training
Students will benefit from the expertise of academics and professionals from the industry and IT business, who will share their vision on different aspects of the Big Data – so as to engage into a technical but also ethical, sociological, legal or managerial reflexion.
Project Work
Already in January 2021, students will pick a topic on which to focus their project answering the question “should data rule tomorrow’s world?”. Time will be given during the week in Passau to work on this project. Such projects could focus deeper on one topic such as:
  • Smart cities and autonomous driving, to be wished for our short-term future?
  • The digital era, an added-value for a secured European citizenship?
  • Data driven sustainable development, possible or utopic?
  • Big data and healthcare, some lessons from the Covid-19 crisis?
  • AI and Big Data for an equal and diverse society, threat or opportunity?

At the end of the week, student teams will present their work and have the opportunity to win a prize!
